Foreword
Micro Automation Sets are fully functional and tested automation
configurations based on A&D standard products for easy, fast and
inexpensive implementation of automation tasks in small-scale automation.
Each of these Micro Automatic Sets covers a frequently occurring subtask
of a typical customer problem in the low-end range.
The sets help you to obtain answers with regard to required products and
the question how they function when combined.
However, depending on the system requirements, a variety of other
components (e.g. other CPUs, power supplies, etc.) can be used to
implement the functionality on which this set is based. Please refer to the
respective SIEMENS A&D catalogs for these components.
The Micro Automation Sets are also available by clicking the following link:

The Automation Task
For good comprehensibility, the features of the Micro Automation Set are
explained on the basis of an automation task.
A garage container with a roller shutter gate control is required in a
container city. The control and the motor are to be connected to the three-
phase mains. When other tasks must be fulfilled which require that the
garage container is replaced and, consequently, the three-phase mains
connection has to be reestablished as well, there is a risk of reversing the
phase sequence. An additional requirement is that the system cannot be
started during a power failure. Control of the gate control and of the display
of operating and error messages is to be done centrally via
one
module.
The system must ensure that the garage container cannot be opened
outside the working hours.

Automation solution – Set 9
The automation solution uses a LOGO! logic module with display and
integrated date and time function for controlling the motor and for displaying
operating and error messages. As AC version the LOGO! logic module can
be connected directly to the three-phase mains. A SIRIUS monitoring relay
monitors voltage and phase sequence of the motor which is connected to
the SIRIUS contactor. A SIRIUS circuit breaker protects the motor.
Maloperations or malfunctions in the power supply are reacted to directly at
the LOGO! logic module. The calendar function in the LOGO! logic module
permits disabling of the roller shutter gate outside the working hours.
